Now NMC gives new guidelines for MBBS in the Philippines. Before the new guidelines of NMC, the Philippines universities were considered 12th equal to 11th class and students compulsory to study BS program before pursuing MD (MBBS). The BS (Bachelor of Surgery) course duration is 1 year after completing this program candidates can get admission to the MD (MBBS) program.
CHED of the Philippines accepts all the new rules and regulations of NMC. At present, there is BS eliminated in the MD course. After the elimination of the BS program in MD the course duration is 5.5 years, here are the 4.5 years of MD course and one year of the internship program.
